Founding Engineer

What is Ano?

Your team chat is completely blind to your tools, your terminal, and your code. Ano is a collaborative shell that actually lives where you build. Channels, threads, DMs, the parts your team already knows by heart. But underneath, the engine is entirely new. Claude Code is built in. Your shell, your terminal, your CLI, and your MCP servers: all wired directly into the room. Hit a key, ask for what you need, and watch it work. It runs scripts, pulls data, and posts results right back to the channel. No context switching. No copy-paste. One bright, wide-awake room. Nothing left rotting between tabs.

What you’ll do

• Own product surfaces end to end. Schema, server, UI, all the way through to shipped.
• Build features that land in front of users the same week you start them. We deploy 10+ times a day.
• Work in chat with Claude Code as a coworker. We use Ano to build Ano, so you’ll feel the rough edges before the users do.
• Pair on tricky problems in conversation. Code review is a conversation, not a customs checkpoint.
• Help hire your future teammates.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years writing software for real users. Bonus if you’ve been an early hire or a founder.
• Strong TypeScript chops, plus one server language (Go, Rust, or Node), plus Postgres comfort.
• Strong product sense. You can take a one-paragraph problem and ship a solution without three sync meetings.
• Bias to ship. Bias to read code instead of asking. Bias to fix things you weren’t asked to fix.
• Good async writing. We write everything down.

How we work

• Stockholm office, hybrid welcome, fully remote on the table for the right person in EU timezones.
• Six-week cycles, Shape Up flavored. We pick the work. You decide how to ship it.
• Compensation: competitive salary plus meaningful equity. Pension, six weeks vacation, hardware budget, off-site twice a year.
• Stack: TypeScript on the client, Go on the sync server, Postgres for everything that matters, Astro for the marketing site, Tauri for the desktop app.
